I had the opportunity to attend the first AyosDito.ph iBall--a whole night party event for bloggers last June 8, 2012 at COWO Asia in Ortigas, Pasig City. The occasion was fun-filled with lots of prizes and surprises while emphasizing the ‘new’ Pinoy Lifestyle that continues to shape Filipino culture.

Hosted by Dj Tony Toni of Magic 89.9 and Ms. Van (short for Vanessa) of AyosDito, the event centered about how we, Filipinos have become insightful or I would rather use the term adaptive into ‘what’s new’ and ‘what’s hot’ not just in social networking sites like Twitter or Facebook but also into buying and selling online!

Jon Santico, General Manager of 701 Search Inc. the company behind the site, welcomed and acknowledged the presence of all bloggers who made it in the occasion. He also made a few words about the real aim of the gathering during his opening remark.
“Ayos Dito I- Ball is a blogger event that celebrates the fun and unique Filipino lifestyle, that is reflective of how people buy and sell online. Buying and selling online with AyosDito.ph is free, easy and hassle-free, just how we Pinoys like it.” He added, “This event is also to say thank you to the community closest to our hearts. Bloggers who have experienced using the website have shared their hassle –free shopping experience online, and were instrumental in bringing other users to our site.”
Tanya Cabbab, AyosDito.ph’s marketing manager shared while welcoming the bloggers
“Aside from having the chance to get to know the AyosDito team and learn more about the site and what were about. We hope everyone has a great time, simply hanging out with us and enjoying the food, the games and the raffle prizes.”

AyosDito.ph has been known to be one of the most preferred online classified ads in the Philippines. Designed for Pinoys by Pinoys, the site has just been awarded last year as the No. 1 Classified Ads website by Digital Filipino Search Profile Index.

Meanwhile, the food served at the Ayos Dito I-Ball was a twist on regular Pinoy comfort food. Tempura Quail Eggs (a modern take on street food favorite – Kwek-kwek), Mexico meets Pampanga’s best sisig tacos, Chicken Pate on Fita a childhood favorite, The simple Tuyo, glammed up in a Tuyo Pasta, oh so yummy Angus Corned Beef Pan de sal. The iced tea was a refreshing honeymansi by Nestea. A special treat was the kakanin ice cream in 3 flavors – Champorado, Mangga’t Suman and Sapin-Sapin ice cream by Sebastian’s.

Tuesday, May 22, 2012

Today is not the usual day that you used to know about TechBulletsPH as this article will be featuring one of the growing and promising online shopping site we have in our country and at the same time, I’m sharing some of my personal preferences when it comes to fashion (hope it won't geez you so much as you see my top picks!). As many of my friends and relatives knew, I’m not into dressing up myself in a way that I would look a “Fashionista.” I’m a geek-looking guy who spends my time everyday in front of the computer either doing some codes (programming), maintaining system in my work, checking emails, visiting my social networking profiles or blogging. Of course, the rest of my time is dedicated to eating, sleeping and maintaining my personal hygiene! With that, choosing  what to wear everyday isn't too much complicated.

HOW IT STARTED

Just as busy as I am, one of the things that I do when I started to sit down in front of my computer is check my emails. I have lots of subscriptions and RSS feeds to read everyday but I only open those emails with interesting and timely topics! And so it's hard to deny that the Nuffnang's invitation about the Zalora wishlist contest isn't interesting at all. The God darn thing that happened to me that day while reading the notification is that I looked myself into the mirror and consciously observed  "How exactly do I look now?" The answer isn't so favoring me so I thought that I need a makeover! Also, being curious about Zalora made me think that I must give it a try! After all, it’s been a long time since I treated myself for some fashion transformation! This may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity so I have to grab it!

MY ZALORA WISHLIST

I decided to take the offer and started to hop at Zalora website. Honestly, my first impression of Zalora (as I'm seeing an ad of it almost everywhere) is that it’s an online shopping site dedicated only for women. I was surprised that they also have a lot of collection of garments and other stuffs for men and children too! At the first look of the landing page I find the site intuitive but highly engaging and it made me also think that it has a wide array of items!

I signed up to the site – noticing that it was very simple to sign up too – providing the necessary information and after that I’m now ready to shop. I like how they are generous to their members giving a 250 voucher for signing up to their newsletter.

I intended to create a wishlist first since I don’t have money yet – yes, it’s possible in Zalora to create a wishlist first before buying – so that I can also narrow down my selection to the items that I really needed and wanted- and I hope to buy them too!

I started browsing through the site and decided to land first at the Pants in the Men section! Indeed, there are a lot of items in the place! I just can’t help myself to click each one item. I like many of them but I picked this Hooked (long pant with trim) first in my wishlist! I find it casual, comfortable, trendy and I think it would fit my personality. I like to wear it in my office too since it is color black. It’s a sure hip style that my officemate would envy.

Take a look at my first pick:

One of the items that I also wanted to have is a pair of shoe. Both of my leather and rubber shoes are almost one-year old already so I think replacing them, although they’re still wearable, is recommended. I navigate at the shoe section to check some items. Again, I like all the available items in this section! From leather shoes for casual wear to sportswear down to sneakers. But among all winsome footwear in the section. I finally picked the Wade Semi Square toe Slip on Dress Shoes to use during work days and Tretorn Skymra Puffers during hanging out anywhere outside.

Second and third pick: pairs of shoes for office and non-working days
Now that I'm feeling a bit spoiled, I thought of exploring the rest of the men's section and suddenly added this Short Sleeves Stripes Woven Shirt With Hood and 2 Front Pockets of 101 New York located at the Shirt section (under Clothing). I love wearing shirt with hood (actually as I write this blog, I'm wearing a white shirt with hood and print "Cebu City: Queen City of the South"). I think wearing this will make me look taller because of the stripes and it's impressively costs Php999 only!

Fourth pick: A shirt with hood for a cool summer!
Before picking my last wishlist item I decided to calculate the sum amount of the items I already have in my wishlist! It's so freaking reaching to 10K already! Freaking in a way that I don't normally do to spend that amount of money all in a single purchase only. I finally realized that this opportunity is really a once-in-a-lifetime chance that I have no idea where to have it again if I ignore it!

For my last wishlist item I picked this casual shirt- that is of my type still from 101 New York, the 3/4 Checkered Dress Shirt. I like the simplicity and the style of this shirt that I wouldn't mind wearing it all-day or all-night long! It's both wearable either during work days or attending in some occasions.

Fifth pick: Checkered dress shirt for an all-day, all-night long occasion!

CONCLUSION

Given the opportunity to make a wishlist and make them come true is a chance of a lifetime that anyone shouldn't miss! I thank Nuffnang for sending me an invitation to write something about it and I don't regret if this content might look a bit far from the goal of this site. I also thank ZaloraPH for hosting or sponsoring this awesome promotion for bloggers like me!

Overall, I love the online shopping experience at Zalora. From the easy sign-up up to exploring the site with items so organized and can be easily checked out or added to wishlist - is impressive. It is very straightforward to its mission and I would always want to comeback to the site to check out new items they have in the ledge. So for you readers and hipsters reading this article, I would highly suggest Zalora for you to check out! Click the badge below to direct to the site now!
